About Me

I am a user experience (UX) researcher with PhD in anthropology and 7 years of experience with start-to-finish ownership and execution of 22 mixed method research projects with expertise in user-centered research and design, network analysis, data science, design thinking, and contextual inquiry.

I recently completed my PhD in Anthropology with a certificate in Clinical Translational Science at the University of Florida (UF). I am currently working as a user researcher at Microsoft.

The UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) encourages research collaboration with the aim of translating scientific discoveries from laboratories to communities. I collaborate with a team of six researchers in the UF CTSI Network Science Program to study scientific collaboration networks (using researchers’ grant funding and publication data).

The network science program uses social network analysis to analyze the CTSI’s impact on scientific collaboration at University of Florida and design network interventions to strengthen and bridge teams in emerging scientific fields. This project is funded by the UF Clinical Translational Science Institute’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program grant (2015-2017).

Below is a visualization of University of Florida’s collaboration network in 2013:

Expertise: Mixed method research, statistical data analysis, social network analysis (SNA), surveys, ethnography, contextual inquiry, semi-structured interviews, interdisciplinary collaboration, team science, organizational culture, innovation diffusion, evaluation metrics, clinical translational science, user experience (UX) research, gender in tech, emerging markets, transportation, East Asia, and West Africa

Interests: Virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning

In my free time, I like coding, biking, and learning new things through podcasts.
